American actor Edward Norton is set to join Daniel Craig and Dave Bautista in Rian Johnson’s Netflix murder mystery, Knives Out 2.

Knives Out

The next installment of the Knives Out series continues with Benoit Blanc’s adventures with the detective now investigating an all-new mystery with a totally different cast of characters.

Recently, it was reported that Guardians of the Galaxy and Army of the Dead star Bautista had joined the cast in a main role. Now, a new report from Deadline reveals that Norton is a part of the ensemble as well.

Production on Knives Out 2 is set to begin sometime this summer in Greece, whisking Craig’s protagonist, Detective Blanc, off to an international locale after he spent the entirety of the first film Stateside in a Massachusetts manor outside of Boston.

Last month, Jamie Lee Curtis confirmed she wouldn’t be appearing in the film’s forthcoming sequel.

Curtis, who starred in the first Knives Out film as Lynda Drysdale, the daughter of wealthy mystery writer Harlan Thrombey (played by Christopher Plummer), announced that neither she or the rest of her on-screen family will be appearing in the sequel.

Johnson is back to write and direct the sequel, and his producer Ram Bergman is reuniting with him to run point on the production.

Johnson, Bergman, and Craig all signed a huge deal with Netflix to make Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3 at the streamer, and it’s one of the biggest streaming deals in history thus far.

Knives Out 2 doesn’t yet have an official release date set at Netflix, but production is expected to start this summer.
