Blood and Cheese. Not the answer to the question “What is 90% of my poop following the Festive period?” but something big for fans of Game Of Thrones.
Anyone watching House of the Dragon who is familiar with George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood will have been wondering if Blood And Cheese will appear… but what the heck are Blood and Cheese?
**Warning – Minor Spoilers**
Blood and Cheese are two characters who are hired by Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) and Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy).
Blood is a butcher and ex-gold cloak in the King’s Landing City Watch. He was dismissed when he killed a prostitute in a drunken rage. Cheese was a ratcatcher, and his familiarity with the secret tunnels far beneath the Red Keep makes him in demand.
They are integral to a secret plot against Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell). Fans familiar with the origin text will point to it as one of the most notable deaths in all of Game Of Thrones and in clear revenge for the death of Lucerys, the spark that starts the Dance of Dragons.
Writer Sara Hess was asked about them and confirmed they will feature. In an interview with Variety she also went on to say:
“We are currently writing the finale of Season 2… I don’t think you will be disappointed.”
Filming gets underway in early 2023… which is tomorrow, bloody hell!… in Spain. No casting is known yet for the two characters. Season 2 of House Of The Dragon will air on HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2024.
