So apparently Jodie Whittaker’s run as Doctor Who ended last night. Fitting for her and Chibnall’s take on this British institution, it went with very little fanfare or excitement. However, it was the regeneration that is making all the headlines.
As the BBC prepares to double down instead of addressing the fan criticism that has turned Doctor Who into a typical BBC mess full of “the message” that saw fans leave in their droves. Whittaker doesn’t regenerate into the gay, black Doctor played by Rwandan, Ncuti Gatwa as expected.
Nope, she regenerates into David Tennant! But, but, I thought straight white men are evil incarnate, how is this even possible?
Well, my fellow Outposters, it’s possible because public interest in Doctor Who has all but vanished and the BBC is in desperate need of a savior.
Back To The Well
This is yet another perfect example of a woke corporation taking decades of source material and everything that made it a success, only to change it, ultimately destroy it, and then leave a giant turd sitting where greatness once stood.
As usual, they all inevitably swallow their pride and return to the well and bring back everything that fans love to save their skins. I would say these people must be so embarrassed to have to resort to such desperate measures, but they completely lack any self-awareness and probably think humility is the name of a side order for their vegan lunch.
Anyway, the BBC confirmed Tennant will become the 14th incarnation with Catherine Tate reprising her role as his former companion Donna Noble for three special episodes set to air in November 2023.
Once fans have rushed back to watch Dave and Cath reprise their roles and give the show a much-needed boost, the BBC will pull the rug from under their feet and give them Gatwa. I expect to see Matt Smith back in 5 years to fix everything after Gatwa’s done with it.
