Jodie Whittaker’s penultimate turn as Doctor Who just aired in the UK over Easter. Legend of the Sea Devils was the Easter special and now it just leaves one remaining adventure before she departs the role and the Doctor regenerates once again.
Now the trailer has arrived for the third and final Doctor Who special of 2022 that will serve as her swansong. The special lands in October and is timed to coincide with the BBC’s Centenary celebrations. After this, the thirteenth incarnation of the Doctor is done.
The Master (Sacha Dhawan) is back, alongside Doctor Who: Flux cast members Vinder (Jacob Anderson), Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave), Yaz (Mandip Gill), and Dan (John Bishop).
The big news for Doctor Who fans is that the special will feature the return of two old companions in the shape of Tegan (Janet Fielding) and Ace (Sophie Aldred) from the days of Peter Davison and Sylvester McCoy.
Whatever the finale has in store, we know it will feature the Daleks, the Cybermen, and The Master all at once.
The rumor is that, while the regeneration scene has been shot, who will replace Whittaker as the Doctor is such a closely guarded secret that the second part of the scene is yet to be created and it is not known if the new actor will be revealed in the special, or if they will make us wait.
