Old faces are returning all over the place for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. Director Sam Raimi is no stranger to Marvel, having directed a previous incarnation of Spider-Man pre-MCU. He also pitched a Thor movie to Sony in 1991.
Now he will team with long-time collaborator, and provider of additional music for Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Danny Elfman. They worked together previously on those Spider-Man entries and Darkman. Elfman will score the entire movie this time, not just create additional music as he did with the second Avengers.
Inverse snagged an interview with the composer and he confirmed he’s already started some early work:
“I am starting to do bits of pre-work for Doctor Strange 2 that Sam Raimi’s directing. Even though I don’t start it for some months, there’s bits of recorded music they need for the sets.”
Steven Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, is already back as Doctor Strange on the set of the third Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland. He will go straight from that into his sequel.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is planned for March 25th 2022.
