Just the other day, some Outposters were having a conversation in our Disqus about The Fantastic Four and how Doctor Doom was important to the MCU going forward. How to handle his introduction, and so on. Well it turns out we may find out the plans sooner than we thought.
Radio host Howard Stern let slip that not only are plans moving forward, but that he has a part in the project. Amusingly, this was totally by accident on a hot mike.
“I told you, I’m going to do ‘Doctor Doom’ with [***NAME GARBLED***]. That’s the thing. But believe me, I’m f—ing miserable about it… I called Robert Downey, Jr. and I was asking him acting techniques.”
According to the reports the garbled name does sound kind of like “Favreau”. Fargo creator Noah Hawley was involved in a Fox project that was cancelled when Disney acquired the studio. He went off to work on one of the many Star Trek projects Paramount couldn’t decide to green light.
There were rumors that Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con would see a big Marvel announcement. Did Stern just mess that up for them?
Victor Von Doom is, of course, leader of Latveria and sworn enemy of The Fantastic Four. A brilliant intellect, he blended science and the occult in his youth. He was offered the chance to study in the United States where he met fellow student and future rival Reed Richards, who was intended to be his roommate, but Von Doom disliked him and asked for another roommate.
Victor designed and built a machine to communicate with the dead but his calculations were seemingly off. Despite warnings, Victor continued on with disastrous results when the machine exploded and severely damaged his face, hence his mask.
Just waking up in the morning, gotta thank God. So this is interesting. On the Howard Stern show today they ended the episode to go on summer break and had a hot mic on. Did Stern say he’s involved with a Doctor Doom project with Jon Favreau?
