New seasons mean new content. When Christmas is out of the way this time next week, focus will turn to pimping that content and trying to make you part with ca$h to sign up to consume content. Who gets your cash? Disney are out of the gates early to try and make it Disney+.
A very compact new thirty-second promo trailer shows a lot of their Q1 2023 slate. Loki star Tom Hiddleston narrates as we see scenes from that show, plus Rosario Dawson in Star Wars: Ahsoka, David Lowery’s Peter Pan and Wendy, The Mandalorian and Secret Invasion.
Also in the first quarter Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be on the Disney+ platform, alongside Pixar’s first TV series Win or Lose.
Disney+ sits at 164.2 million global subscribers as of October 1, 2022. Netflix and Amazon Prime remain the top streamers with 220 million and 200 million paid subs respectively. HBO Max is way back from there at around 80 million.
