It is fair to say that last years Disney+ Day was not well received. The first attempt took place last year, in November. The launch of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings onto the service just two months after its theatrical bow was a major part of the event, as was the announcement that Prey was not coming to theatres.

Disney+

Overall, though, it was met with cynicism from fans who saw it as blatant and unnecessary alongside Star Wars Celebration, D23 and other big promotional events Disney has in the calendar. This isn’t stopping them trying again, though.

On September 8th there will be Disney+ day again and this time the big ticket is Thor: Love and Thunder hitting their streaming platform. Also part of the event is the Tom Hanks-led Pinocchio movie, a TV series based on the smash Pixar movies, and bane of parents everywhere, Cars On The Road, and a special documentary Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return which will probably not cast any light on just how they messed that up so badly.

The virtual event to promote the Disney+, Hulu, and Star+ streaming services will also announce upcoming new content for the streamer so expect some big reveals. Thor star Chris Hemsworth took to Twitter to announce the streaming release of his latest:

The official Disney+ Twitter account also go in on the act announcing more of the line up. Forewarned is forearmed. The existence of a Frozen and Frozen 2 singalong is enough to send all parents to Airbnb to find a log cabin in a wilderness with no TV and no internet for a while.

I think I will just watch Light And Magic again instead.
