No, not THAT one from the trailer. Everyone gave a collected gasp when the trailer for Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness seemed to show just a tiny glimpse of a certain bald-headed ex-captain of the USS Enterprise who has been in Marvel movies for years.
But this is a totally new one. This is also a completely unsubstantiated rumor from the internet so, as usual, this is rumor control…
So what is this juicy rumor? Well, it is another Doctor Strange cameo and another part of the MCU colliding with whatever it is that Sam Raimi is creating. Swirling around out there are rumors that the various guises of X-Men will appear, along with the Fantastic Four.
We know there has been talk that there were top-secret reshoots featuring a limited cast and crew, simply to keep the appearance of certain MCU characters secret before release. However, this news is the first we have heard of this particular character appearing.
The actor behind this certain Marvel character apparently published a picture on their Twitter feed, and then very quickly it was yanked down. Who was that actor, which character? Well, here it is…
Why has this got some people on the internet very excited? Apparently, it matches the current appearance of Ryan Reynolds, and the people identifiable in the background are known to be in the wardrobe and costume department on Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.
Attempted sleuthing and application of reverse Google Image Search simply leads us to more copies of this picture as the rumor propagates. It has been expunged from Reynolds’ timeline if it really did appear there.
So what do you think? Internet rumor only? Fan prank that has gained traction? Or is Deadpool, the merc with the mouth, making his first official MCU appearance in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness?
Remember the forceful denials from Andrew Garfield about Spider-Man: No Way Home? Nobody will believe anything any actor says about the MCU anymore.
We will find out for certain in a little over two months. The movie is due out May 6th.
