Guillermo del Toro Is Producing

Keri Russell and Jesse Plemons deal with a terrifying unseen menace befriended by a young boy in this new, dialogue-free trailer for horror movie Antlers.

Scott Cooper’s movie, which is produced by Guillermo del Toro and is based on a story by Channel Zero’s Nick Antosca, has dropped some pretty heavy hints about the peculiar family troubles facing the young lad at its centre.

Here’s the new trailer:

The film’s official synopsis reads –

“A small-town Oregon teacher and her brother, the local sheriff, become entwined with a young student harbouring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.”

I’m not going to beat about the bush here, I was fully expecting a Scy-Fy Channel-type movie about some pissed off reindeer, but after watching it, I’m still not sure what it’s about and whether or not I just saw manbearpig.

Based on the story of The Quiet Boy, by Nick Antosca and published on Guernica this past January, Antlers is due for release on April 9th, 2020.
