Movie Based On Japanese Novel Maria Beetle
Deadpool 2 actor Zazie Beetz is the latest addition to the ensemble cast of Hollywood star Brad Pitt-led action-thriller Bullet Train.
According to Deadline, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry and Andrew Koji are also part of the cast. The film is based on Isaka Kotar’s Japanese novel Maria Beetle and will be directed by David Leitch.
The basic premise of Bullet Train follows a group of assassins on a speeding train in Tokyo, and that’s it, there are few details known about the movie, including who Beetz will be playing.
English translations of the book are hard to come by, so most of the details aren’t readily available, so it’s not clear how loyal the adaptation will be to the book.
Director Leitch has proven to have a little style in the past with movies like Atomic Blonde, Hobbs & Shaw and John Wick in his past.
Leitch and Kelly McCormick are attached to produce the project through 87North, along with Antoine Fuqua.
Beetz is currently shooting for Jeymes Samuel’s The Harder They Fall. Her other film credits include Joker, Lucy in the Sky, Wounds and High Flying Bird.
