The promo was just a simple introduction to the Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One trailer that was screened alongside a special showing of Top Gun: Maverick at CinemaCon back in April. This special promo reel has now appeared online.
This was filmed as Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie were filming Dead Reckoning – Part Two, in particular an Octopussy and Capricorn One style action sequence featuring Cruise strapped to a Boeing-Stearman biplane.
The sequence was filmed over Blyde River Canyon in South Africa, with pick-up work in Cambridgeshire in the UK.
Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, Cary Elwes, Esai Morales, and Henry Czerny all star in the new Mission: Impossible films, which will be released July 14th 2023 and June 28th 2024 respectively. After that, it’s all over. The Mission: Impossible franchise will end.
