Imagine it. Imagine a world where every single thought in every single man’s head was broadcast to those around them? If the rest of humanity knew what I was frequently thinking then I would be locked up, or at the very least friendless and penniless. This, however is one of the central concepts of Chaos Walking.
Patrick Ness adapted his own first novel, The Knife of Never Letting Go, and Doug Liman directs. The well regarded Young Adult story follows a mysterious woman who crashes on a planet where the women are all dead and the men’s thoughts are broadcast to all around them.
Star Wars Daisy Ridley plays the new arrival Viola and Tom Holland plays Todd, the man who befriends her and keeps her safe when danger inevitably arises. The cast also includes Mads Mikkelsen, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, David Oyelowo and Demián Bichir.
This movie has had a long and troubled journey to the big screen. The first cut was presented to the studio who deemed it unreleasable following feedback from test audiences. Liman and team went back to the drawing board for large scale reshoots. With Ridley and Holland busy on other projects this became a challenge. The reshoots were finally able to take place in April and May 2019. Evil Dead reboot director Fede Álvarez helped Liman do the reshoots in record time.

However despite this troubled birth the fans of the books have been all over social media since this trailer was released praising the first look at this movie.
Chaos Walking is currently due for a January 2021 release in the USA, with no UK date officially confirmed.
