After all the controversial movies that Shawn and myself talk about, let’s go to the other end of the spectrum and have a look at Cars On The Road, a TV series sequel to the 2006 Cars.
The first Cars was pretty good family fun, all about Lightening McQueen, a hot shot racing car, as he learns about friendship and family in Radiator Springs. In this series sequel, it looks like McQueen and Mater go on a road trip.
A road trip into Mad Max Fury Road! I know this is a stupid thing to say, but all of that looks too far-fetched, I mean, I know it’s a movie about talking cars, but it looks like they dialed up the weird to 11.
The official blurb on the series is:
The Disney+ Original series follows Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and his best friend Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet up with Mater’s sister.
At first, I thought this was a movie, which might have been fun for an hour and a half, but it’s a 9 part series, probably an hour each episode.
Cars on the Road will be streaming on the 8th Sept this year.
