“Everything’s Under Control”

The first trailer has dropped for Richard Stanley’s (Hardware and Dust Devil‘s) Color Out Of Space, an adaptation of an H.P. Lovecraft‘s short story of the same title starring Nicolas Cage.

Here it is –

The synopsis reads –

“After a meteorite lands in the front yard of their farm, Nathan Gardner and his family find themselves battling a mutant extraterrestrial organism as it infects their minds and bodies, transforming their quiet rural life into a technicolor nightmare.”

The film, which premiered at TIFF in September to mixed reviews, is the first feature from director Stanley in 27 years. Stanley’s career stalled after he was fired from the Val Kilmer-Marlon Brando flop The Island Of Dr. Moreau (1996). This project has been in the works since 2013 but was only put into production when Cage signed on in 2018.

Starring alongside Cage is Joely Richardson, Madeleine Arthur, Brendan Meyer, Julian Hilliard, Elliot Knight, and Q’Orianka Kilcher.

No word on any UK dates, however, RLJE Films will be releasing the film in the USA on January 24th, 2020.
