Bullet Train is coming. The upcoming American action thriller film is directed by David Leitch. The movie is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle which was published in English as Bullet Train and was written by Kōtarō Isaka.

The film stars Brad Pitt, Joey King, Andrew Koji, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Masi Oka, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Karen Fukuhara, Bad Bunny, and Sandra Bullock, so one hell of a cast.

Bullet-train

Five assassins find themselves on a Japanese bullet train, realizing that their individual assignments are all interconnected.

For this viral ad, Brad Pitt lends his voice (and can be briefly seen) in a commercial for a faux rail network, Nippon Speed Line. This points to a website suggesting a potential trailer release is coming on March 2nd.

The Shinkansen is colloquially known in English as the bullet train. It is a network of high-speed railway lines in Japan. Initially, it was built to connect distant Japanese regions with Tokyo, the capital, to aid economic growth and development. Beyond long-distance travel, some sections around the largest metropolitan areas are used as a commuter rail network. It is operated by five Japan Railways Group companies.

Over the Shinkansen’s 50-plus-year history, carrying over 10 billion passengers, there has been not a single passenger fatality or injury on-board due to derailments or collisions.

Bullet Train is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 15, 2022, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
