The man whose voice pisses excellence, the Kurgan himself, Clancy Brown has been cast in the upcoming spin-off from The Boys. Gen V is set up at Amazon Prime. It is set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes.
Gen V has been said to be highly R-rated and will explore the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put themselves and their personal boundaries to the test and compete for the best contracts in the best cities. Brown will reportedly appear in at least one episode of the spin-off. The blurb says:
“Young adult Supes are tested in The Hunger Games-style challenges at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, run by Vought International.”
Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi star. The series is executive produced by showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters.
Gen V was first announced in September 2020 with Craig Rosenberg writing and executive producing the series with Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Michaela Starr, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Sarah Carbiener, Erica Rosbe, Aisha Porter-Christie, Judalina Neira, and Zak Schwartz.
Last year Amazon gave the confirmed order for the series and Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters were set as showrunners and executive producers of the series.
The series has been rumored to focus on the G-Men team, as mentioned in the first season of The Boys. Clearly a parody of Marvel’s X-Men, they featured in the fourth volume of Ennis’ and Robertson’s comic book series called We Gotta Go Now. That will serve as a loose inspiration.
