The coronavirus pandemic has shut cinemas in many countries. In North America low attendance is already impacting revenues even ahead of any of the closedowns communicated today.

Disney/Pixar’s Onward maintained top spot but had a 60% decline and only pulled in $16 million.  Christian music biopic I Still Believe led the rest of the lack on $10 million.  Vin Diesel failed to recreate any of the best moments in the history of cinema in third place with $7 million for Bloodshot.

Thriller / satire The Hunt was fourth with $5-6 million.  Every entry is between $3 million and $5 million below where the tracking was as little as a week ago.

The biggest movie of this period is Marvel’s Black Widow which will be seen as a harbinger of what’s to come.  If Disney postpone it then summer is going to be very long and very hard for theatre chains.
