Lots of speculation online over the last couple of weeks that Letitia Wright wasn’t just injured on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but that she was holding up production as she was refusing to get vaccinated against COVID.
This was apparently causing issues with protocol on-set and with CDC travel restrictions if travel was required between London and Atlanta. The usual internet suspects span this story up and it quickly got out of control.
Now the story has been completely shot down. The Hollywood Reporter has the official line from Marvel Studios. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is still very much on track to return to filming in late January in Atlanta. Furthermore, Letitia Wright has recovered from her injury and will be on set as Shuri. Her vaccine status is not an issue, and the story does not confirm or deny if she has any vaccine hesitency.
Stand down, internet, stand down!
The movie is still scheduled to hit theaters on November 11th 2022 when we can see just how they pull this off without their leading man, Chadwick Boseman.
