New Series Will Stream On Quibi
Earlier this week, Bill Murray was spotted at a Vancouver Canucks hockey game. He was in attendance with director Peter Farrelly to work on their new show The Now.
The series is being developed by Peter Farrelly, who will share directing duties with his brother Bobby. It’s being made for Quibi, a new streaming service that’s set to launch next year.
Murray and The Farrelly’s previously worked together for 1996’s Kingpin, alongside Woody Harrelson and Randy Quaid.
The Now stars Dave Franco as Ed Poole, a man who is tempted to die of suicide after learning that both his father and brother also died that way. Instead, he decides to stop worrying about the past or the future and to instead live in the titular now.
Alongside Franco and Murray, the show stars O’Shea Jackson Jr., Daryl Hannah, Jimmy Tatro, Alyssa Milano, Rob Yang, and Lex Scott Davis.
The Now doesn’t have an official release date just yet, but Quibi is set to launch in April 2020.
In Case You Missed It…
Murray will be returning as Dr. Venkman for the upcoming Ghostbusters movie.
Murray has remained hesitant about returning since Ghostbusters 2. But now, thanks to original writer and star, Dan Aykroyd, there is confirmation of Murray’s return in the upcoming sequel.
It’s still unclear how much screen time he will have in the film as it’s set to star a younger team of Ghostbusters. Along with Murray and Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts have all been confirmed as returning. Unfortunately, Harold Ramis passed away in 2014 but it’s been promised his presence will be felt.
Ghostbusters 2020 is written and directed by Jason Reitman and will arrive in theaters on July 10, 2020.
