The first trailer is out for Damien Chazelle’s Babylon. This is set in 1920s Hollywood and stars Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. Babylon is an exploration of the film industry as it saw the transition from silent films to the “talkies”.
As well as Pitt and Robbie, the film has an impressive cast made up of Tobey Maguire, Olivia Wilde, Katherine Waterston, Max Minghella, Jean Smart, Samara Weaving, Li Jun Li, Jovan Adepo, Flea, Lukas Haas, Rory Scovel, P.J. Byrne, Spike Jonze, and Jeff Garlin.
Emma Stone was also slated to reunite with her La La Land Director but a scheduling conflict paved the way for Robbie to enter the picture.
This looks glorious and is filled with drugs, alcohol, sex and the over exuberance we’ve come to expect from these Hollywood types. It’s good to see hardly anything has changed in 100 years. Thanks to its many larger-than-life characters and the overall scope of the film, Babylon comes in with a runtime of just over three hours. Stop that crying Boba Phil.
Babylon is due for a limited release in theatres courtesy of Paramount on Jesus’ 2022nd birthday and then nationwide on 6th Jan 2023.
