The Latest Movie To Skip Theaters
Tom Hanks’ World War II drama Greyhound should be hitting theaters tomorrow, but due to the pandemic, Apple TV+ will now stream the movie.
Sony had previously pushed back the movie’s release multiple times, most recently settling on June 19th, however, those plans were scuttled by theatrical closures as a result of the ‘Rona. Yesterday, Apple announced that Greyhound will now debut next month on Apple TV+.

Sony’s official synopsis reads –
“In the early days of WWII, an international convoy of 37 Allied ships, led by captain Ernest Krause (Hanks) in his first command of a U.S. destroyer, crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi U-boats.”
Based on The Good Shepherd by C.S. Forester, Greyhound is directed by Aaron Schneider (Get Low) from a script by Tom Hanks. In addition to Hanks, the film also stars Elisabeth Shue (The Karate Kid), Stephen Graham (The Irishman), and Rob Morgan (Just Mercy).
Greyhound will premiere on Apple TV+ on July 10th, 2020.
