Netflix has released a trailer for their new film adaption of All Quiet On The Western Front. The most cheerful of war novels. This new remake stars Daniel Brühl, so you know the acting is going to be top notch as that kraut can act!
Watching the trailer, it shows what appears to be some expansion from the original movie. I never read the book because we all know what kind of people “read” but this looks pretty good. It looks realistic, with the daily horror and violence and filth of war. Not at all like the sterile fantasy land version of the war we saw in 1917.
I even hear there have been some improvements to the plot. Word is that in this version a German soldier meets and falls in love with a transsexual French soldier. I kid, I kid!
