Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness) has signed on to appear in a story about the haunted ocean liner The Queen Mary at Imagination Design Works. A trilogy is planned.
Since a long service crossing the Atlantic, the once Queen of the seas is now permanently docked in Long Beach, California as a hotel. She receives two million visitors each year and the Queen Mary has been voted one of the Top 10 Most Haunted Places in America by Time magazine.
They even run nighttime paranormal ghost tours on-board and paranormal investigators have confirmed the high level of activity… if you believe that sort of thing. There are reports of over 150 ghosts in the Queen Mary.
A sighting of a bearded man in dark clothes is a regular apparition. This is thought to be from an incident where a fireman was killed by getting crushed underneath a watertight door during a fire-drill. The man who was killed and now haunts the doorway that caused his death.
Sounds of splashing a children playing have been heard in the vicinity of the first class swimming pool, as have wet footprints on the floor. Even though the pool has been drained for decades. Sounds of children crying and laughing in the third class playroom nursery are also common, as is the sighting of a little girl who drowned in the second class swimming pool. The “lady in white” appears throughout the ship.
So plenty of opportunity. They will need it, with a trilogy planned.
Gary Shore (Dracula Untold) will direct a screenplay written by Stephen Oliver, Tom Vaughan, and Shore.
Mali Elfman, Brett Tomberlin, Nigel Sinclair, Nicholas Ferrall, Thorsten Schumacher, Lars Sylvest, Jason Newmark and Laurie Cook will produce.
