Filming Begins This December

According to THR, Crank co-director Mark Neveldine has just added Mel Gibson to the cast of his upcoming action thriller Panama.

The script, written by Daniel Adams and William R. Barber, follows a highly-decorated former Marine sent undercover by his old commanding officer on a dangerous mission to oversee an important deal involving some dodgy characters.

Yellowstone’s Cole Hauser will play the Marine, with Gibson starring as his former commander.

Panama is expected to kick off production in Puerto Rico this December, and THR says that Gibson will shoot his part and immediately move on to Leo From Toledo, another action thriller directed by Joe Carnahan that is also set to shoot in Puerto Rico.

Gibson will next be seen in Fatman, a dark comedy action film that centres around a cash-strapped Santa Claus who is forced into a partnership with the U.S. military in order to save his declining business. Not only that, but he must face off against a deadly assassin (Walton Goggins) hired by a 12-year-old kid who was furious after receiving a lump of coal in his stocking.

Gibson will soon be behind the camera as he is attached to direct an update of the movie Wild Bunch for Warner. Bros.

Fatman will be hitting limited US cinemas on November 13th before being released digitally on November 17th.
