Rémy Martin, a French company producing Louis XIII Cognac, has made a film titled 100 Years: The Movie You Will Never See, directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring John Malkovich and locked it away until 2115.
So unless you are an elite and have access to Adrenochrome, you’ll never see this film.
The film is in a fail-proof and time-locked safe and invitations for its grand premiere, have already been sent to 1,000 people, including Malkovich and Rodriguez, for their offspring. The inspiration behind this ambitious project is a bottle of cognac that also takes a century’s worth of ‘patience and careful craftmanship’ to create.
I have to admit, that is a genius marketing idea. It’s just a shame we live in a time where the human concentration span is actually declining since the introduction of smartphones so keeping people engaged for 100 years is near impossible.
There are a total of three trailers available, each with a different prediction of what the world will look like in 2115. The first gives a glimpse into the futuristic and technologically powered world that looks like something from Cloud Atlas.
The second looks like a world where nature has once again taken the whole of man-made cities and a semi-collapsed civilisation.
And the third gives us a retro-future which was how the future was imagined in science fiction of the 1940s or 50s.
No one knows which of the three has been chosen and locked away so I guess you’ll need to set a reminder on your Alexa to remind your grandkids to tune in on their holoprojectors.
